Join Kate for a transformative experience where the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra meets the modern science of Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR). In this class, you’ll discover a unique blend of relaxation techniques to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. As a National Park Service Ranger for natural temples like the Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountain, and Yosemite, Kate found yoga reflected what was alive in her in nature. She started her yoga teaching career by offering the first ranger-led yoga programs to backcountry hikers at Grand Canyon National Park. These experiences illustrated the power of practicing yoga in nature and the exchange of energy between humans and the earth. Kate values nature as a teacher and believes it can help us better understand ourselves. Her programs often incorporate deep ecology and focus on the journey within. Kate blends various approaches to health and well-being, including the eight limbs of Ashtanga, yin, yoga nidra, depth psychology, and Internal Family Systems. She encourages her students to explore their inner resources and embodied awareness.
Kate is certified in Ashtanga and continues her studies as a yoga therapy apprentice with her primary teacher, Christina Martini of Santosha Shala. She also trains in Yin Yoga, Internal Family Systems, and Buddhist Mindfulness Practice with Kali Basman of Durga Excursions. Kate specializes in yoga nidra through Yoga Irest Level One teacher training and offers restorative and yoga nidra classes. Her previous experience on the Crisis Incident Stress Management Team/Family Liaison for the Department of the Interior has prepared her to offer trauma-informed offerings. She is passionate about empowering others to find healing, peace, and joy through awareness.
